Specifications include, but are not limited to: Examine, evaluate, and certify participants using State and Federally approved certification procedures. Must have a Registered Dietitian available for consultation regarding high risk follow-up. Registered Dietitian credentials must be provided and maintained. Make available appropriate health and nutritional education services. Inform participants of available health services. Maintain competent professional staff to perform certification and nutrition education services. Not charge a fee to WIC applicants or participants. Ensure breastfeeding is the preferred infant feeding method. Comply with the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments of 1988. Comply with the National Voter Rights Act of 1993. Provide immunization and substance abuse information, screen and re fer for follow-up as appropriate. Comply with Federal regulation concerning Uniform Administrative Requirements, 2 CFR Part 200, Subpart F, audits of State, Local Governments, and Non-Profit Organizations. Comply with Pro Children Act of 1994 to ensure a smoke free environment. Certify that entity is not currently under suspension or debarment for Federal procurement. Comply with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Maintain complete, accurate, documented, and current accounting of all program funds received and expended. Accounting of costs must be reported in the following cost categories: client services, administration, nutrition education, and breastfeeding. Not discriminate against persons on the grounds of race, color, national origin, age, sex (including gender identity and sexual orientation), or disability. Provide adequate insurance and bond to safeguard program assets. Written proof of insurance and bond must be provided.
