Specifications include, but are not limited to: 1. The Fatal Five (aspiration, bowel obstruction, dehydration, seizures, and infection/sepsis) refers to the top five conditions linked to preventable deaths of persons in congregate care settings or in community-based residential settings. The curriculum provided should increase knowledge of the learner on the Fatal Five fundamentals to provide appropriate care and support. 2. Provide Fatal Five courses should assist both clinical and non-clinical staff in the support of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities by teaching the learner how to provide adequate services and for appropriately targeting treatment needs. 3. Provide Person-Centered Thinking curriculum should be based on current, best practices, and future-focused to encourage the mindset of the learner to support people with IDD with a person-centered approach. Concentrated on putting the person first, the curriculum should identify how someone can be assisted with finding and maintaining positive control of their lives, looking at what is important for and to a person. The curriculum should also include appropriate documentation of services to enhance the quality of supports provided. Courses should be accessible to all levels of learners, including people with lived experience, their families, and other stakeholders. 4. Provide All courses, Fatal Five and Person-Centered Thinking, should be in a format easily accessible to ADMH-DDD for implementation in a virtual Learning Management System (LMS). The contractor would be able to provide the curriculum in a format that is easily transferable to an LMS.
