Specifications include, but are not limited to: Don Young Port of Alaska (PoA) is a Municipality of Anchorage, Alaska owned and operated deepwater seaport. It is designated critical transportation infrastructure and subject to Maritime Transportation Security Act (MTSA) of 2002 (especially 33 CFR Part 105) and International Ship and Port Facility Security (ISPS) regulation. Security needs nationwide in the US port industry extend beyond what is generally accepted in business communities as the needed level of security and access control. Since 9/11, the need to extend more stringent protections to all transportation infrastructure components—including ports—has grown in importance; and continues to grow as the enemies of our nation get more sophisticated with their security breaching tactics. Without a viable and protected port industry, the United States fails to function. Don Young Port of Alaska seeks 24/7/365 physical security services from a service provider experienced in executing security practices for marine terminal facilities in accordance with US Department of Homeland Security and US Coast Guard rules and regulations, to include 33 CFR 105 in detail.
