Summary of RFQ: This project requires geotechnical drilling and analysis of a total of 8 test holes at 15’ deep if we find that the material is suitable drilling shall continue to 60’ or until the material turns unfavorable. The hole location in the general areas given will be at the discretion of the engineer on site. This project is located at 2 different sites. The first is on Johnson Road and the second is a turn from Quarry Road; both are in the Yukon Training Area. A .KMZ file will be given upon successful bid to assist in determining approximate location. Representative samples for geotechnical index testing are to be collected and analyzed by the consultant. Applicable geotechnical index tests include moisture content, organic content, relative density, particle size distribution, and Atterberg limits. If present, permafrost depth and classification will be provided for each boring There is a potential of Unexploded Ordinance (UXO) on the project. If UXO is found, the consultant shall call range control at 1 (907) 353-1266; similarly, each day prior to entering you must call Range Control and notify them that you are working that day. To access the project, you must fill out a form with the Alaska Railroad for each person. The pass(es) is/are to be available upon request from you for the Railroad officials who may ask.
