The City of Tucson is seeking qualified vendors to provide emergency freezer and refrigerator semitruck rental services on an as-needed basis. This contract will be utilized in the event of a failure of our facility’s freezer or refrigerator, which houses critical criminal evidence. Due to the sensitive nature of the stored materials, it is imperative that the selected vendor(s) demonstrate reliability, rapid response capabilities, and adherence to strict temperature control standards. The awarded contract will be structured as an emergency standby agreement, meaning there is no guaranteed usage; however, the vendor must be prepared to mobilize and deliver a fully operational freezer or refrigerator truck, whichever is requested, within an 18-hour timeframe upon request. These storage units are critical in preserving evidence from crime scenes. Preserving the evidence at the appropriate temperature is of the highest priority. The evidence refrigerator contains an average of 480 boxes (each box measures 15.5"x8"x24"). The evidence freezer contains an average of 1,000 boxes (each box measures 15.5"x10"x24").
