A preliminary list of objectives, to be reassessed once the project is underway, includes the following: • Work in partnership with key stakeholders including MAG, ADOT, the cities of Tempe and Mesa, the Salt River Pima Maricopa Indian Community, and others to build consensus around a program of improvements. • Document existing and future conditions. • Complete and document a hotspot, safety analysis of the SR 101L and SR 202L corridors. • Identify and document recommendations made in previous studies covering the study area. • Develop and evaluate near-term and long-term improvements to improve corridor safety and operations. • Improve/enhance connectivity and access between SR 101L and SR 202L and the freeway and arterial networks. • Identify locations where new right-of-way will be required for future improvements. • Determine planning level costs for recommended projects. • Develop and document an implementation plan for the recommended program of projects. • Provide opportunities for the public to participate and provide input to this study at appropriate times throughout the process. Assume two rounds of virtual public meetings. • Document all study findings and decision points to help facilitate knowledge transfer as the program of projects progress to future studies, design, and ultimately construction.
