A. Security Guard must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all time. B. Must complete Daily Reports of activity while on duty and immediately report any incidents. C. Make hourly rounds to check building and parking lot for safety and security. Rounds will include ensuring exit doors are secure and have not been left open and stairwells are clear. The square footage of the Business and Industry Center is approximately 32,343 square feet. D. Unlock doors for scheduled classes in assigned rooms. E. Ensure fire doors remain closed at all times. F. Ensure outside storage areas are locked at all times. G. Turn off all lights and make sure doors are closed and locked at end of shift. H. Security Guard must not leave until the final employee and/or student has exited the building and ensure the building is empty. I. Must not interfere with the workspace shared by other employees of the college. The guard post will be located in a shared space with the Administrative Assistant. J. Escort students and staff to their vehicles only upon request. K. Security Company must provide a cell phone for work related and emergency calls to any security guard provided to UAPTC. L. A security schedule must be sent for the entire month, 7 days prior to the 1st day of the month. Please note schedule is subject to change with a 24 hour notice. M. Security Guards must be able to communicate effectively to resolve issues and keep people safe. N. Security guards need to understand the laws and regulations that govern their profession, including laws and policies related to working on a college campus specifically those at UAPTC.
