24-05-31-B - As Needed Welding Services

The City of Oceanside (City) is soliciting proposals for As-Needed Welding Services for Fiscal Years 2024-25, 2025-26, 2026-27 with an option for two, one-year renewals.  The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to develop a fair and reasonable price guarantee for quality and prompt, reliable welding services from the selected vendor. The City reserves the right to request new proposals for services at any time.

Scope of Work

Successful vendors must have the ability to perform a minimum of three (3) or more services listed below:
 

1. Provide welding services as-needed, on-site at Water Utilities Facilities. 
2. Inspect damaged equipment and determine appropriate procedures for making repairs.
3. Cut, fit and assemble material as required by City staff for welding (by 3rd party or City staff) in flat, vertical and horizontal positions.
4. Provide 24-hour availability for emergency services for mobile welding for all types of water plant equipment.
5. Supervise, plan, and perform welding of metal structures and repairs on water plant machinery and equipment using electric arc and gas welding equipment.

6. Work with the types of metals needed for welding repairs, including, but not limited to:
   1. 316 and 304 Stainless Steel
   2. Cast steel
   3. Cold Rolled Steel
   4. Hardened Steel
   5. Chrome Moly Steel
   6. 6061 Aluminum
   7. Other exotic metals as required, which includes but is not limited to, high performance alloys, duplo stainless steel and titanium.

7. Perform processes such as welding, cutting, drilling, forming, grinding, and/or shaping of materials performed by machine or hand tools.
