The Los Angeles County, Department of Public Health (LAC-DPH), with funding support from Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Cities Readiness Initiative (CRI), seeks services to increase readiness and continue developing the capability to organize and effectively integrate community volunteers from Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) and other partner community agencies (i.e., Public Health Emergency Volunteer (PHEV) partners) into LAC-DPH’s public health emergency preparedness and response plans and support deployments of MRC Los Angeles and PHEV partners for public health emergency responses. LAC-DPH seeks a consultant who is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in public health emergency planning with expertise integrating community volunteers, especially MRC, into operational plans, and expertise in developing training curriculums related to public health emergency response and conducting trainings and exercises of emergency plans that integrate MRC volunteers. 40 HOUR COORDINATE AND FACILITATE EIGHT (8) MEETINGS TO DISCUSS AND PRESENT REVISIONS TO THE VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT PLAN. 24 HOUR: INTEGRATE NEW STRATEGIES FOR RECRUITING AND RETAINING COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS FOR MRC AND PHEV INTO THE VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT PLAN. REVIEW CURRENT TRAINING PLANS IN PLACE FOR VOLUNTEERS AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS TO UPDATE PLAN AND APPLY LESSONS LEARNED DURING COVID-19 RESPONSE AND OTHER EXERCISES TO INCREASE CAPABILITY OF VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST DURING PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCIES.
