The purpose of Temporary Housing Assistance Services is to provide temporary housing assistance to persons living with HIV so that they can access and remain in HIV outpatient/ambulatory health services and achieve viral suppression. Emergency Housing Assistance provides limited short-term assistance to support emergency, temporary or transitional housing to enable clients or families to gain or maintain outpatient ambulatory health services. Emergency housing assistance includes shortterm hotel/single room occupancy (SRO) stays, or payment of rent for individuals facing eviction. The Partial Assistance Rent Subsidy (PARS) program provides a short-term (up to 48 months) rental subsidy equal to 40% of the individual’s rent, not to exceed 40% of the fair-market rents for San Diego established by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). PARS is designed to transition clients to more stable housing arrangements.
