Specifications include, but are not limited to: The primary objectives of the certified farmers’ market are to: 1. Create a festive community event and social gathering place 2. Offer community members an opportunity to purchase locally grown produce and artisan goods 3. Provide farmers an opportunity to sell their products locally 4. Provide local businesses, nonprofits, artisans, and musicians an opportunity to participate 5. Highlight the unique and diverse character of Seaside 6. Provide locally sourced and culturally relevant products that will appeal to a broad range of residents and visitors Specifications and Requirements: The successful submitter must be certified by an accredited Farmers’ Market authority and be prepared to begin operating in the City no later May 2023. An abundant blend of multi-cultural market vendors is desired, also, the City strives to limit the sale of non-food products to 25% or less of the total products offered. The successful submitter will ensure a balance amongst vendors. The successful submitter shall submit and coordinate with the city on the following: o A detailed site plan for each potential location that includes: A market load-in and load-out plan (See Attachment A) A staffing plan that designates a Farmers Market Manager responsible for the operation of the market in accordance with the contractual agreement developed between the Market Operator and the City. Trash and recycling plan during the event and the clean-up responsibilities post event, and following the parameters of Chapter 8.60 of the City’s municipal code “Environmentally Preferable Food Packaging” A cleaning plan to address spills during the event and cleaning using a hose/nozzle after each event to ensure the site is maintained. Hose and nozzle will be provided by operator. City will provide water access. Proposed signage for the site. The operator will be responsible for providing their own signage in accordance with Seaside Municipal Code (SMC).
