Specifications include, but are not limited to: Operator Role Proposer shall be responsible for all day to day functions and operations of the Theater in accordance with the highest professional and ethical standards. Proposer will be considered an independent contractor and consequently, shall be responsible for all employment and payroll functions related to their operation of the Theater. Proposer shall negotiate and execute all agreements for use of Theater space for events, including verification of the collection and payment of City Admission Tax. Proposer will have oversight responsibility over any and all subcontractors associated with Theater programming, operations, and maintenance. Proposer shall abide by all applicable local, county, state, and federal laws pertaining to its operation and shall secure all licenses and permits necessary for the operation of the Theater. Proposer shall be responsible for and pay all federal, state, county, and City taxes arising as a result of managing Theater operations. Proposer shall be responsible for possessory interest tax assessed by the County of Santa Cruz. Proposer shall constantly endeavor to improve the operation of the Theater with a view toward developing the most efficient and highest quality service to customers, minimizing operating costs, increasing the quality of maintenance, and maximizing gross receipts. Proposer shall prepare and submit annual budgets for the operation of the Theater and establish a system of internal controls to provide reasonable assurance that the Theater’s resources are used in an effective and efficient manner.
