Services: Supply only approved drugs, intravenous solutions, biologicals, and pharmaceutical supplies in compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations for residents and facility. When available, A-Rated generic equivalents must be used instead of brand-name drugs. Contractor shall ensure a full thirty (30) calendar days supply of medications in hand upon release. Contractor shall render all services in accordance with any applicable requirements of local, state, and federal laws and regulations and community standards of practice. Prescriptions shall be labeled in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws, rules, and regulations. Contractor shall provide drugs, intravenous solutions, biologicals, and pharmaceutical supplies in a prompt and timely manner. Contractor shall fill a thirty (30) calendars day supply of medication per prescription. Package all medication in unit doses. The completed prescriptions are to be delivered to the facility in unit returnable doses (strips in boxes) that meet CMS standards. Contractor shall notify County when there is a significant factor change pertaining to medication(s) currently or routinely provided to any resident. Significant factors include, but are not limited to price, drug availability, new generic substitutes, and/or medications being removed from the market for any reason. All systems must be completely installed, implemented and tested with a Go-Live date of October 1, 2024. Contractor must also be able to take phone or fax orders and deliver items on the next trip. Vendor must also notify facility when drug(s) is (are) not available so that substitute drug(s) may be obtained. Contractor shall be responsible for all third-party billing for Medi-Cal, private pay, and insurance. Contractor shall also be responsible for billing appropriate party-concerning Medi-Cal residents that requires non-covered drugs, intravenous solutions, biologicals, and pharmaceutical supplies. Further, the vendor will attempt to secure coverage when any non-covered/non-formulary medications is ordered for a resident eligible for drug related benefits under Medi-Cal (and other third-party programs), as allowed under the provisions of that program. Provide drug information and consultation to the facility’s licensed professional staff regarding such drugs, intravenous solutions, biologicals, and pharmaceutical supplies ordered. Conduct, when requested by the facility Administrator, and as mutually agreed to by the vendor and the facility, programs for in-service education for subjects related to the vendor’s services rendered.
