Specifications include, but are not limited to: In child dependency cases, the court orders clients who have an open case to attend services designed to assist them in overcoming challenges that brought them to the court’s attention. One service parents/caregivers may be expected to attend is a parenting education program. These courses cover a variety of topics with the goal of enhancing parental understanding of child development and behavior, and teaching skills and techniques that aid in effective parenting. CSD has used a correspondence parenting course in the past to provide these services, primarily to incarcerated clients (approximately 130 clients annually). Since local jails and state prisons do not offer parenting courses on site, inmates have limited access to services that would aid them in being reunited with their children after release. CSD also offers correspondence parenting services to parents/caregivers who cannot access the services in their communities due to injury, illness, disability and/or lack of transportation. The period of performance anticipated for this bid is to be effective July 1, 2024 or upon signature of an Agreement by both parties and continue in effect through June 30, 2029, unless terminated earlier. There is no obligation by DPSS CSD to purchase any specified amount of goods or services.
