Specifications include, but are not limited to: The goals of the demonstration garden are to raise public awareness and build adult and youth environmental stewardship on SFPUC-designated topics related to sustainable, organic gardening practices that teach water efficient practices; enhance water quality through pollution prevention; increase recycling and composting; and reduce the use of toxics and solid waste. The successful proposer will provide the maximum number of San Francisco residents and students with public educational workshops and field trips on priority topics approved by the SFPUC. An important component of the scope is to provide a well-maintained space for garden visitors by provide ongoing upkeep and management of the half-acre teaching garden.
