Specifications include, but are not limited to: Activity 1 - Contract Administration: Develop a management plan to document how the Consultant will ensure they meet the requirements, goals, and objectives of the Authority. Activity 2 - Pre-Design Services: Collect and analyze information about the site and the Program to develop initial concepts for the Authority to review and approve. Conduct a planning study to understand the facility needs over time in relation to the phased operational segments. Activity 3 - Design Services: Prepare the design documents required to define, obtain regulatory approvals, bid, and construct the facility; planning, designing, building, and operating the first high-speed rail system in the nation. The California high-speed rail system will connect the mega-regions of the State, contribute to economic development and a cleaner environment, create jobs, and preserve agricultural and protected lands. When it is completed, trains will run from San Francisco to the Los Angeles basin in under three hours at speeds capable of over 200 miles per hour. The high-speed rail system will eventually extend to Sacramento and San Diego, totaling 800 miles with up to 24 stations. In addition, the Authority is working with regional partners to implement a statewide rail modernization plan that will invest billions of dollars in local and regional rail lines to meet the State’s 21st century transportation needs.
