Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. The Contractor shall provide an early intervention injury management and navigation service which works in coordination with the existing workers’ compensation Medical Provider Network (MPN) and existing healthcare programs statewide. Initial contract to provide services for this Two (2) - Year Pilot Project, with CAL FIRE maintaining the option to extend to a third year of service under the same terms as bid by the successful Contractor. B. The Contractor shall be responsible for assisting the injured individuals statewide in navigating the health care process. This service shall work on behalf of the individuals to schedule appointments with doctors, diagnostic testing services, physical therapy, and all related medical needs. This service shall usher the individuals through the process with the goal of eliminating unnecessary appointments; reducing the time to definitive care; and reducing the time between appointments. The service shall keep specified parties informed of all steps in the process and serve as the single point of contact for the injured individual. This service shall work directly and collaboratively with CAL FIRE’s Workers Compensation process, as well as the injured individuals’ insurance providers. Employees shall have access to services year-round; Anticipated but not limited to approximately 2,000 requests per year. C.
