Specifications include, but are not limited to: The awarded applicant is to promote the social and emotional development of young children ages 0 through 5 years and address social-emotional development delays in early childhood. The awarded applicant will need to work with preschools and child care homes to provide training, consultations and materials for educators to use for the identification and long range management of children with behavioral problems. The awarded applicant will be expected to increase the capacity and skill set of early childhood educators to improve their ability to communicate with parents and families regarding behavioral concerns. The awarded applicant will provide consultation on behavior management strategies to both educators and parents, with a licensed clinician such as an LCSW, LMFT, LPCC, or Psychologist available to work on-site with children. The awarded applicant will need to identify children with significant delays in social-emotional development and intervene to address those delays as early as practicable. They will also need to provide referral and linkage to treatment and/or appropriate community resources who use evidence-based practices.
