Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. Prior to beginning work, Contractor shall conduct field measurements to verify exact pipe sizes and lengths prior to ordering materials/supplies/parts.; B. Pre-work Meeting: Contractor shall meet with Caltrans Contract Manager prior to beginning work to discuss work performance and to establish a schedule. All work shall be completed by Contractor within six (6) months after the Pre-work Meeting, unless an extension is approved, in writing, by Caltrans Contract Manager.; C. Perform Open and Inspection, with Eddy Current testing, on two (2) McQuay PEH100 Chillers. Perform the following on each McQuay PEH100 Chiller: 1) Lockout and tag out chiller high voltage and control power to one (1) chiller at a time. Perform the same scope on the second chiller after the first chiller’s scope is complete.; 2) Verify voltage has dissipated (zero (0) volts) before beginning work.; 3) Start recovery on chiller approximately two thousand (2,000) pounds of refrigerant to be recovered.; 4) Isolate Condenser and Evaporator Barrels.; 5) Drain Down Barrels.; 6) Use gantry and rigging to remove condenser and evaporator heads.; 7) Brush tubes, if necessary, on condenser.; 8) Once refrigerant is recovered, set condenser barrel to drain overnight prior to Eddy Current testing.; 9) Perform Eddy Current testing on evaporator and condenser.; 10) Advise of findings within thirty (30) days of Eddy Current testing completion via email to Caltrans Contract Manager and provide additional proposal if tubes need to be plugged.
