The San José Police Department is seeking proactive health screenings that are non-invasive, full body medical imaging to screen for the diseases of greatest concern for law enforcement personnel in order to assist with the goal of improving health and welfare of employees such as cardiovascular disease, lower back and neck pathologies and cancer. Full body or 3-D medical imaging has been proven to make public safety employees aware of serious and potentially life-threatening conditions and disease. This includes heart and lung disease, plaque and calcification of arteries, tumors, cysts, numerous cancers, circulatory problems, internal organ disease, bone density and skeletal deficiencies that are not generally detected during an annual physical exam or screening. Early detection of these and other conditions allows the employee to seek medical treatments early, which is often lifesaving and life-changing, leading to lower long term medical costs and loss of employee productivity, while achieving a healthier employee workforce.
