MAAC is nearly a 60-year-old organization with a rich history and long-standing traditions, and we aim to make a significant impact in the community. Our staff are consistently focused on meeting the needs of the community. This year’s conference focuses on being unified in our work to uplift each other and the communities we serve. During 2025, we want to unite our staff across departments, programs, and the County of San Diego to create greater impact. Throughout the conference, we will invite our staff to consider the values, perspectives, strengths, and hopes we bring each day we show up at work and how we can unite and uplift in our collective work empowering individuals and families in San Diego to create the life they want and deserve. A keynote speaker will deliver a talk on this topic to the organization in the morning. The workshop sessions should align with the following topics below (however not limited to): • Equity, diversity, and inclusion • Emotional intelligence • Cultural competence • Values-based leadership • Coaching and developing others • Trauma-informed service delivery • Building a culture of psychological safety • Communication to motivate, influence, and inspire • Conflict transformation • Stress resilience • Asset-based community building • Mindful movement To that end, we seek proposals for a 60 to 75-minute workshop session that will be delivered in-person twice to two different audiences of roughly 70 MAAC staff members. The workshops will take place in person at our event site, Pechanga Resort and Casino, between 9:00am and 4pm PST on January 31, 2025. The exact times will be solidified closer to the event. We ask that the proposals meet the following objectives: ▪ Enhance participant knowledge and understanding of the conference theme. ▪ Encourage reflection on personal connection to the workshop topic, so that individuals can determine the changes they need to make to unite and uplift each other and the community we serve. ▪ Provide powerful examples, illustrations, and content to enhance participants’ knowledge. ▪ Create opportunities for interaction and engagement with other attendees. ▪ Cultivate at least one tangible skill that participants can apply directly to their work.
