For both current Family Child Care Home Providers and individuals seeking to start a Family Child Care Home, Bidders must: A. Define their proposed service area/target clients which could be countywide or a specific demographic group, geographic region, or high-need community B. For target service area and/or clients, provide culturally and in-language technical assistance such as, but not limited to: 1. Enrollment assistance (i.e. marketing/outreach) 2. Applying for grants to make necessary physical improvements for licensure and site safety 3. Business planning and development 4. Start up assistance, including obtaining business homeowner’s insurance and navigating permitting and licensure requirements 5. Assistance in obtaining early childhood education and training and other supports to enhance the quality of the Family Child Care Home programming C. Have an outreach plan for the proposed service area to make potential clients aware of the availability of these resources as well as promote running a Family Child Care Home as a career path for residents of San Mateo County.
