*DETAILED DESCRIPTION:
NAVAIR which includes Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) and Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division (NAWCWD) is the Navy's principal research, development, acquisition, test and evaluation (RDAT&E) activity to provide full life-cycle support of naval aviation aircraft, weapons and systems operated by the fleet. Engagement with academia in science, mathematics, engineering and business is extremely important to accomplish the NAVAIR mission.
NAVAIR is responsible for developing innovative solutions to challenging problems in an era that is characterized by increased complexity, interdependence, uncertainty and an unprecedented rate of technological changes. Information and technologies are constantly evolving. Advanced digital and analytical capabilities are critical to making real time decisions. NAVAIR has a requirement to acquire the latest information, research and technologies, data and analytics for existing and emerging technologies, as well as business and leadership practices in support of its mission that is readily available from academia. The intent is to revitalize and enhance Science and Technology (S&T) and Research and Development (R&D) practices and to spur innovation in the applications of these technology fields to Naval challenges. The term “academia” for the purpose of this contract, shall include any accredited university, college or institution of higher education.

This requirement is being advertised under full and open competition in accordance with FAR 6.102.
