CREST ENRICHMENT: Out of School time enrichment classes for students in grades transitional kindergarten through 5th grade at seven various Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District (SMMUSD) sites during Summer 2025 and the 2025-26 school year through the CREST (Childcare, Recreation, Enrichment, Sports, Together) Program. Classes shall be innovative, creative, hands-on classes in the fields of music, art, drama, foreign languages, sports and science, and are introduced to unique specialty classes such as computer animation, robotics, and chess. Instructors will provide Enrichment classes at various SMMUSD school sites for up to four sessions (Fall, Winter, Spring and Summer). During the Summer half-day program, the one-to-three-hour classes meet Monday-Friday for four to six weeks, beginning in July 2025. During the school year, the one-hour classes meet once a week for eight to ten weeks per session, beginning in September 2025. COMMUNITY CLASSES & CAMPS: Classes shall be offered once a week for 4–12-week sessions four times per year (Summer, Fall, Winter, and Spring). Youth camps are offered during Summer, Winter, and Spring, and school breaks, as well as other select school holidays. Proposals are being sought for activities commencing with in the Summer 2025 session (beginning July 1, 2025) through June 2026. Recreational classes for youth and adults as well as youth camps through the City Classes and Camps Program held at various park facilities. AQUATICS: A wide range of recreational fitness classes for all ages including, but not limited to the following: A. Water fitness classes at Santa Monica Swim facilities may be offered daily at various times, with class hours ranging from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM. Water Aerobics classes at the Swim Center are generally offered weekday evenings & Saturday mornings (5 times weekly). B. Ideal fitness instructors for water-based exercise classes should possess a deep understanding of aquatic exercise principles and the ability to adapt movements for diverse fitness levels. They should excel in clear communication, inspiring and motivating participants while creating a supportive and inclusive environment. They should maintain personal physical fitness, demonstrate creativity in class routines, and continuously seek opportunities for professional development to enhance their teaching skills and knowledge. C. Water-based fitness classes may encompass a variety of activities tailored to cater to participants of varying fitness levels, providing unique benefits. These may include but are not limited to aqua aerobics (deep & shallow water), aqua Zumba, water yoga, water Pilates, aqua circuit training, aqua boot camp, aqua Tabata, aqua stretching, aqua Tai Chi, aqua interval training, etc.
