Specifications include, but are not limited to: LA City Emergency Preparedness Campaign Objectives The objectives of the LA City Emergency Preparedness Campaign will be as follows: ● Identify those segments of the City’s stakeholder population who are most likely to have been unreached by past media and who would have the most barriers in accessing emergency preparation information in the event of an emergency or natural disaster. ● Determine the most cost-effective media format to reach the class of persons that would be the most vulnerable in an emergency or natural disaster and the best location to publicize the emergency preparedness media campaign. ○ Use a variety of different offline digital media and place in areas with dense traffic of the targeted class of persons. ○ Expand understanding about the City’s risk for natural disasters beyond “earthquakes and wildfires”. ● Increase recognition among persons in Los Angeles of EMD as a source of emergency preparedness ○ Ready Your LA Neighborhood. ○ Ready Your LA Business. ○ Using 3-1-1 City Call Service. ○ Spread awareness of the NotifyLA alert system. ● Develop and distribute emergency preparedness materials with a focus on using off-line materials to disseminate amongst the public. ○ Produce materials for all languages listed in Tier 1 and Tier 2 of the City of LA’s Threshold Language (Exhibit M). ○ Make creative materials accessible to those persons with disabilities and other functional needs. ○ Make material that is user-friendly for those persons facing illiteracy, language barrier, lack of education and other barriers facing immigrant communities.
