Specifications include, but are not limited to: Body repair work may include, but is not limited to: • All repairs and painting shall conform to OEM specifications; including product specifications. • City of Santa Monica may provide some decals. All other parts and miscellaneous supplies such as fasteners, paint, masking tape, and other items commonly stocked will be supplied by vendor. • Body panels that have been painted shall not have drips, fisheye marks, or dirt or other debris within painted surfaces. • Body panels shall be installed in a uniform manner using OEM approved materials and methods. • Fit and finish shall meet or exceed OEM specification. • The use of double stick tape shall only be used in areas that are approved by the OEM. • All decals shall be installed prior to delivery of the vehicle. • Vehicles shall be picked up and delivered back to the Santa Monica Big Blue Bus yard located at 1620 6th Street, Santa Monica. • Successful vendor must comply with all City of Santa Monica specifications. Description of Work Standards • Finish work shall conform to automotive factory finish standards or better. Paint finish shall be free of blemish, runs, orange peel and swirls. • Body work and paint shall match existing paint. • All work performed shall be of highest quality standard and conform to all applicable state and federal rules and regulations. • Vendor shall provide pick up and delivery of all vehicles and Fire apparatus. • Vendor must have working knowledge of Fire apparatus. • Vendor shall take digital images of work in progress and submit those as part of invoice. • Vendor shall use new and unused genuine OEM replacement parts where applicable. • Vendor must have the ability to directly purchase replacement parts for all Fire Apparatus from the original truck manufacture. • The use of bondo material shall be kept to a minimum, SMDOT prefers body panels replaced rather than repaired by a bondo material. • Must be able to provide certified welding for fabrication work with submission of this bid. • Vendor must have the ability to graphically design, purchase and install City decals, logo’s, reflective tape stripe, the application of Gold Leaf and installation of any other reflective vinyl requirements for both the SMDOT & SMFD • Vendor must be able to design, install, and replace any and all emergency lighting equipment, involved or not in the collision repair. • Vehicle shall be completely ready to go back into service once the repairs are completed. • All body and paint repairs shall be authorized by the Transit Vehicle Maintenance Superintendent or designee.
