Specifications include, but are not limited to: GENERAL REQUIREMENTS The contractor will be required to provide an applicable State License for the scope of work described herein. The contractor's quote shall include a warranty for all work to be performed for no less than 12 months from the date of completion. Clean up work will be performed daily and will be required in one area before moving to another area to perform work. The installation schedule pertaining to this bid package must be adhered to by the contractor or liquidated damage will be assessed by the Owner in the amount listed in the agreement. No extension of time will be granted unless written consent from the owner is given. Buildings will be available to the contractor during regular business hours for investigation and prep work. The contractor's price will include installation, cutover, and testing of equipment after 4:00pm and before 7:00am of the next business day. Site access hours may vary due to normal school hours, holidays, summer break. The contractor shall assume that normal construction hours will be after 4:00pm and before 7:00am on the next business day. STRUCTURED CABLE The Mendota Unified School District (the Owner) requires new horizontal cabling, new backbone cabling, new network cabinets, and new pathways to be installed throughout their campus. This includes, but is not limited to, removal of existing horizontal cabling, removal of existing backbone cabling, removal of existing MDF/IDF cabinets, installation of new Category 6 horizontal cabling, installation of new 12-strand single-mode fiber optic cabling, installation of new MDF/IDF cabinets, installing new pathways, patching patch panel to network switch connectivity and patching cable outlets to end devices connectivity. Horizontal Cabling - All new Category 6 data cabling shall be installed per the locations shown on the provided drawings. All new cabling systems shall include new termination hardware installed per specifications. All cabling shall be concealed. Contractor to supply and install all necessary pathways: conduit, raceway, j-hooks, faceplates, etc. All cable management ties installed in MDF/IDFs shall be reusable hook-and-loop-based cable ties. Removal of all unused cabling and connectivity devices. Contractor to label ceiling with cable ID for all above ceiling cable outlet locations. Contractor will schedule all demo with district after cutting over is complete. Contractors can find all horizontal cabling material part numbers in the provided specification within the RFP. Backbone Cabling - All new 12 strand single-mode fiber shall be installed from the existing MDF to each of the IDF’s shown on the provided drawings. All new fiber backbone cabling systems shall include new termination hardware installed per specifications. The contractor will supply necessary pathways, conduit, raceway, innerduct, j-hooks and connectors. All fiber must be incased in conduit or innerduct from buildings point of entry to MDF/IDF location. All management ties used on cabling between patch panels and switches must be reusable Velcro based cable ties. Removal of all unused cabling and connectivity devices. Contractor will schedule all demo with district after cutting over is complete. Contractors can find all backbone cabling material part numbers in the provided specification within the RFP. Network Cabinets – All new MDF/IDF cabinets shall be installed to each location shown on provided drawings. The awarded contractors shall install per drawing details and specifications. All locations requiring new Hubbell RE4XB cabinets will require (1) 5400 series surface mount raceway risers from top of cabinet to ceiling space. Contractors will make necessary knock outs on top of cabinets for each riser installed. Contractor to supply and install all mounting hardware to hold cabinets full weight rating, plywood backboards, fire rated paint for plywood backboards, grounding, and bonding. Contractor is responsible for all relocation, replacement, removal, and added cabinets as shown on provided drawings. Contractor will schedule all demo with district after cutting over is complete.
