Specifications include, but are not limited to: Art Consulting Services: Review proposed projects and initiatives and develop a proposed Art Program for each that includes the goals of UCDH’s Art Program. The Art Program should address art opportunities for both the building(s) and the project site. Work with UCDH Art Program representative to prepare annual budgets. Review future projects and initiatives’ scope of work and provide proposals for services and rough order of magnitude on art materials and installation. Develop an overall budget associated with each Art Program and align with University’s financial requirements. Work with UCDH Art Program representative to develop and manage Art Program process, budget and schedule for all projects and initiatives. Continually monitor and update throughout the duration of the projects and initiatives. Perform site assessments and identify proposed locations for artwork, in coordination with the University and Design team. Develop art location plans for projects and/or initiatives and continually adapt and update as necessary. Conduct research and outreach to develop a diverse and varied pool of artists with examples of their work to support the overall Art Program. Potential artists shall represent the broad diversity and culture of the UCDH, Sacramento, and communities served. Collaboration and coordination with project teams, UCHD Art Program representative, Art Committee as needed on all aspects of the Art Program. Meet with project teams, Art Committee, and other University committees as needed on all aspects of the Art Program Analyze existing floor plans, interior finish plans, renderings, traffic flow, signage, plants, etc. to recommend ideal placements, sizes, and mediums of artwork. Develop and present thoughtful, cohesive, and decision-driven artwork presentations. Create surveys for artist/art selection to be used in meetings when necessary. Develop and present curated art plans upon selection of artists for UCDH representatives review and approvals. Provide a Final Art Package for each project and/or initiative that includes numbered art locations, images of each piece/final concept, artist name, studio location, medium, sizes, and specific framing. Act as the point of contact for all artists considered and selected for each project or initiative. Work with each artist to assist in developing and updating design concepts and manage the process of commissioning artwork. Coordinate with artist(s) to provide input to the design and construction team regarding infrastructure requirements, including backing, bracing, mounting, lighting, and other considerations until all requirements are resolved. Monitor the artists’ progress to ensure completion in accordance with the project and/or construction schedule and provide regular updates to the University. Recommend and specify materials for printing, custom matting, framing, or protection of artwork. Engage and manage selected framers, fabricators, printers, graphic designers, and installers to execute each project vision. Provide quality control for high profile commissioned artwork, printing, framing, and mounting hardware to ensure final product meets the quality and expectations of the University.
