Specifications include, but are not limited to: A. SB 1383 Implementation Plan Development • Develop comprehensive SB 1383 Implementation Plan specific to the city. • Standardize internal processes for monitoring compliance and recordkeeping. • Work with other departments to implement new processes to meet requirements. B. Outreach and Education: • Develop a comprehensive communications strategy aimed at educating residents, businesses, and stakeholders about SB 1383 requirements, timelines, and implications. • Create informational materials, including brochures, flyers, website content, and social media campaigns to raise awareness and promote compliance. • Organize community workshops, webinars, and informational sessions to address questions and concerns regarding SB 1383 regulations. • Provide non-local and local education agencies with edible food recovery education and outreach. • Track education activities. C. Waiver Process Management: • Develop and implement a streamlined process for residents and businesses to apply for and obtain waivers from specific SB 1383 requirements, as allowed by regulations. • Provide guidance and assistance to applicants throughout the waiver application process, including documentation requirements and submission procedures. • Maintain accurate records of waiver requests, approvals, denials, and any associated communications for compliance reporting purposes. D. Trash Bins • Provide appropriate containers, bins, or carts for the separation of organic waste at curbside, multi-family dwellings, businesses, and other relevant locations.
