Specifications include, but are not limited to: San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services is seeking hotel and/or motel contractor(s) within San Mateo County to provide room services for the clients it serves for various programs. Clients may have various issues including but not limited to mental health issues, COVID-19 related illnesses, behavioral issues, physical disabilities, etc. Majority of clients are elderly and have functioning cognitive capacity. County's social workers can assist with any issues that may arise. On rare occasions, family members may accompany the client during the hotel stay. On average, County needs five to six rooms per month. Hotel/motel stay range from a few days to up to one month or a little over one month. Contractor shall have the resources and capabilities to provide the following: • Handicap accessible rooms; • Accommodate Covid-19 positive clients; • Accommodate clients with mental health issues; • Accommodate small families and individuals by offering single rooms with one and two bed options; • Provide refrigerator and microwave • Heat/AC • Television • Phone 2.2. Other Hotel/Motel Accommodations The following are accommodations that AAS prefers the hotel/motel to have, but is not a requirement: • First floor sleeping rooms • Exterior access • Close proximity to a grocery store/fast food • Close proximity to public transportation (walking distance to bus line) • Allow pets/emotional support animals • Offer large families adjoining or side by side rooms; 2.3. Reservations Requirements The following are reservation accommodations that AAS desires the hotel/motel to provide,: • Availability for clients to stay on a weekly basis • Availability for clients to stay on a monthly basis (enter a lease agreement) • Accept last minute reservations • Accept late hour check-in • Accept online check-in • Accept phone and email reservations • Allow AAS staff to reserve and extend hotel stay for clients
