1. Services to be provided on an as needed (on-call) basis. 2. Perform routine and emergency snow plowing and emergency road maintenance services on areas within the assigned location. Typical minimum snow accumulation for activation of plowing will be 2-3 inches. 3. Perform routine and emergency clearing of walkway and sidewalks around the building and emergency services on areas within the assigned location. Typical minimum snow accumulation for activation will be 2-3 inches. This will also include applying ice melt or cinders on hard surface path of travel. Clearing of sidewalk needs to be completed before opening the doors at 8:00 am. 4. Provide the required equipment for snow removal in sufficient condition, number, and size along with sufficient experienced and appropriately licensed personnel to perform snowplowing operations to maintain appropriate snow levels and as directed. 5. Be capable of responding to snow removal locations within two (2) hours of requisite snow accumulation (2-3 inches as specified above). This includes the transportation, chaining-up and setting up of snow removal equipment. This would also apply to weekends and holidays. 6. Perform road snow plowing and maintenance operations in a safe and prudent manner consistent with current operating procedures and standards. The Contractor shall maintain established routes and widths. 7. Exercise due caution in the performance of these duties and avoid parked vehicles, berms and curbs, drainage facilities and private and public property such as fences and walls. Any damage occurring from Contractor’s operation shall be promptly reported to San Bernardino County. Contractor shall be fully responsible for repairs of any damage. 8. Promptly notify San Bernardino County upon discovery of problems or events that cause limitation or stoppage to the performance of Contractor’s duties. (i.e. parked vehicles, downed trees, excessive ice on roadways, equipment failure, damage, etc.) 9. Be responsible for the fueling and maintenance of his equipment at Contractor’s expense. Equipment shall be serviced and ready for use at the on-set of snowfall. 10. Ensure that all workers under this contract will be paid current prevailing wages to all operators and contractors staff engaged in performing work for the County. Contractor will be bound by all provisions of the State Labor code when applicable. Certified payroll must be submitted with all invoices and the Contractor will be responsible for submission of certified payroll to the Department of Industrial Relations.
