The City of Modesto Public Works Department, Fleet Division is requesting an annual agreement for towing services for a period of two (2) years, with three (3) one-year extension options at the sole discretion of the City, for a total of up to five (5) years. Type of Towed Vehicles can be as follows: 1. Passenger vehicles and trucks with a rated capacity up to 10,000 GVWR. 2. Mid-Duty vehicles and trucks with a rated capacity of 10,000 to 30,000 GVWR. 3. Heavy Duty vehicles and trucks with a rated capacity of 30,000 or more GVWR. Tow services shall be paid at a flat rate for any and all tows with an originating point of fifteen (15) miles or less from the drop off point. Originating point shall be defined as the location of the vehicle to be towed. The drop off point shall be defined as the location the vehicle shall be towed to. The distance shall be measured by the shortest route possible. Bidder shall provide mileage charges for any tow over fifteen (15) miles. At a minimum, bidder must own or lease and possess at the time of bid submittal and thereafter, two (2) fully operational tow trucks. All trucks must be currently registered with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
