Specifications include, but are not limited to: Rolfe Hall 1200 is a large, sloped-floor auditorium included in the list of general assignment classrooms (GAC) that needs remodeling to enhance a learning environment. The existing auditorium is approximately 3,600 sq. ft., including its support spaces. The goal is to create an "active learning" environment that accommodates 100 to 120 students and supports peer-to-peer learning by creating opportunities for students to sit facing each other in tiered seats. The outdoor space adjacent to the auditorium may also be included as a programming area to create pre- and post-class environments while maintaining newer physical distance guidelines. The proposed renovations will include, 1. Redesign of the entrance area 2. Replacement of the fixed seating 3. Removal of the existing teaching stage with teaching well that allows for improved visual connection to the students 4. New audiovisual and other technologies consistent with current GAC equipment 5. Updating the HVAC and electrical systems as required to meet current building/energy code requirements 6. Improving the accessibility of the space in compliance with ADA requirements;
