III. Purpose Consultant will be contracted to develop and implement a Wellness Outreach Project targeting Asian Pacific Islander Community members all around Los Angeles County. Contractor will need to work with the API UsCC subcommittee to develop an outreach plan that meets the needs of the community. Once the project is awarded, the contractor will meet with the Asian Pacific Islander UsCC subcommittee at the next month’s meeting and the contractor will obtain input from the API UsCC subcommittee for collaboration on planning for the outreach projects. Outreach plans will need to be discussed with the API UsCC Subcommittee to determine what kinds of outreach materials are needed, (swag, brochures, flyers, etc.) how many events, what size and type of culturally based outreach events to conduct, and in what locations. The project must include at least 5-15 outreach events (depending on size and cost of event) and must be completed by June 30, 2025. The outreach events could include: 2 i. Several one-day wellness outreach events or festivals for each language group ii. Resource tabling events taking place over a few hours, iii. Mental health and wellness seminars or workshops iv. Other outreach events as defined and developed by the API UsCC. As part of this project, the Consultant will recruit licensed mental health professionals to conduct and/or provide oversight to the mental health seminars (to ensure psychoeducation is accurate and appropriate) and provide mental health linkage and referral information pertaining to the services offered at Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health. This project hopes to engage the Asian Pacific Islander Communities, and familiarize them with wellness and mental health techniques, and at the same time reduce stigma and encourage the communities to seek mental health services. IV. Deliverables: 1. Flyer/Promotional Materials for Participant Recruitment A. The Facilitator must develop accessible flyers and/or other promotional materials to outreach to at least 100 API participants during outreach events over the course of the project. B. Consultant must conduct ongoing advertisements for the Asian Pacific Islander Outreach events, activities in different service areas where the target population resides. The advertisements can be conducted or disseminated in person and/or virtually, in appropriate languages C. Virtual and in person advertisements of the Asian Pacific Islander Outreach events must include flyers, posters, brochures, handouts in different languages common to the API community. All the flyers, posters, brochures, handouts can be posted online (i.e. Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, etc.) All flyers must include information on where and how to access mental health services. D. Flyers and/or other promotional materials should include time, date, location where the Asian Pacific Islander Wellness Outreach activities will be held. E. Any flyers and/or other promotional materials must include a copy of the LACDMH logo, the API UsCC logo, and the MHSA logo F. The flyers and/or other promotional materials including those utilizing social media platforms must be submitted to LACDMH for approval prior to implementation.
