A. Backpack sprayers will be used in most areas, with manual removal and/or hand painting of herbicide may be required around sensitive resources as directed by DPR representative. B. Prior to treatment, one site visit may be required to familiarize the Contractor foreman with conditions, terrain, and habitat. C. Herbicide will only be applied to target species as specified by DPR representative and in accordance with herbicide label and PCA recommendations. Contractor shall strictly avoid herbicide contact on non-target plant species, and will not spray fences, signs, and other facilities. D. Contractor must possess equipment capable of utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) with sub-meter accuracy to guide and document treatment. All crew members must be capable of using the GIS equipment. E. Contractor will map treatment areas and amount of herbicide used on a daily reporting form provided by the State. F. Contractor will be responsible for the proper storage and transportation of all herbicides and containers to and from project sites. Contractor will be responsible for the appropriate disposal of all herbicide containers and related waste to authorized off-site locations. Contractor will have a plan, equipment and supplies necessary to prevent and contain any spill of chemicals used in treatment. Any and all spills shall be reported to the DPR representative immediately. The Contractor is responsible for any contamination or damage resulting from spill. G. The Contractor foreman must be present during invasive plant control activities and able to answer inquiries from the public in a professional manner. H. Work at some locations will be subject to site-specific impact avoidance and minimization measures. In these cases, all field crew may be required to attend training prior to working on site and a biological monitor may be present during work (training and biological monitor to be provided by DPR). I. Use of vehicles is limited to paved and/or unpaved park roads. J. Contractor will ensure that boots, tools, equipment, and vehicles will be free of soil or vegetative debris before entering the park and when moving between sites to prevent the spread of invasive species. Boot brushes or air compressors should be supplied by the Contractor and on hand at all times.
