A. Qualified vendors will provide product, replacement and services of low voltage communications systems cabling per LAUSD specifications. Services are differentiated as Maintenance/Repair of existing equipment or New Installation of new equipment and will be rendered at schools and facilities within the LAUSD District only. The scope described applies to all low voltage systems and is a requirement of this solicitation. The low voltage systems include but are not limited to VoIP, PBX, Public Address Intercom, CCTV, Intrusion Alarms, Projectors, Sound, Audio, Video, 2-way Radio, MATV, CATV and Network systems. B. Before starting any work, a request for quotation (RFQ) will be submitted by the District and a detailed Statement of Work (SOW) must be provided with a cost quotation, including proposed time and material(s). Any supporting documents, including tests performed and results, during the survey must also be submitted. Cables used must be verified and accepted by LAUSD ITS (Information Technology Services) department. Scheduling of work must go through LAUSD ITS department so that proper access and approval is gained from the work location. Do not schedule any work directly with the school or office site. C. Proper replacement, termination, testing, documentation of cabling, and test results are required. Fusion Splicing is acceptable as a repair but must be approved by LAUSD ITS. Splices must be enclosed in a watertight enclosure. Splice repairs must meet acceptable minimum loss and meet the same Warranty requirements as specified below. Cable(s) that is (are) being replaced with new cables must be removed and properly disposed of in accordance with Local/State/Federal laws and regulations. All cabling must be enclosed in the pathway from point A to point B. Pull string must be left behind when replacing any cabling for future use. It is prohibited to pull out or modify any working cabling to pull new cable(s) in when pathways are limited and/or pull strings do not exist.
