The Project generally consists of providing the necessary labor, equipment, and materials to replace the roof on the James Woody Community Center located at 13467 Navajo Rd, Apple Valley, CA 92308. The Project will include removal and disposing of all roofing down to sheathing. Replacing any and all damaged sheathing with new plywood. Installation of two (2) new layers of 15# felt over the entire roof. Installation of new 30-year dimensional, of Class A fire rated composition shingle (elk or Equal) roof to current California Building Code and manufacturer’s specifications (two layers). Replace any damaged wood found when roof is uncovered. Include new metal drip-edge at all eaves. Include new drip edge and flashing. Price shall include new jacks, edge-metal, vent caps, and metal dormer vents. Paint ALL pipes, vents, and fascia if new drip-edge does not fully cover existing paint, no bare wood is to be exposed when complete. Roof jacks to be painted to match the new roof color, wood to be primed and painted to match color of existing wood as closely as possible. Town to select color from samples provided by Contractor.
Additionally, the following items will be completed as part of the scope of work:
- Removal of insulation
- Clean attic upon completion with no debris left behind.
- Repair/replace fascia as needed. New to match existing.
Use the Alternate Bid Item Section to provide pricing to remove and install new rain gutters.
Work on the Project shall be completed within 30 working days. The preferred start date for construction is July 10, 2023. Contractor will be required to obtain a new-fee permit from Building and Safety.
