RFP-BD-2017.101 - Community Solar Energy Provider

The Adams County Board of County Commissioners approved a 2030 Sustainability Plan for County operations in April of 2015. Among other goals, the plan calls for a 25% reduction in energy consumed for non-renewable resources per building square foot by the year 2030. The County is interested in pursuing a cost effective agreement with a community solar energy provider in order to offset the consumption of electricity from non-renewable resources.
 
Adams County is interested in finding a community solar provider that would allow all County facilities in Xcel Energy Inc’s territory for electricity services to be entirely powered by solar energy. The County is in the process of constructing a new 314,650 square foot Human Services facility in Xcel Energy Inc’s territory and will likely sell buildings that will be vacated when the new facility is completed. The County estimates that it could accommodate up to 2.8-3.2 MW of solar produced energy to meet the current demand for County facilities in Xcel Energy Inc’s territory.
