IFB-SS-2019.516 - Rehabilitation of 88th Avenue Bridge over Local Drainage West of Manilla Road

This construction project is intended to rehabilitate the existing 51-foot long by 48-foot wide, single-span, steel girder bridge carrying the two traffic lanes of East 88th Avenue over a local drainage, located approximately 0.6 mile west of Manilla Road, in central Adams County.  The work includes, but is not limited to, replacing the existing steel plank and asphalt deck with a new composite reinforced concrete deck with waterproofing membrane and asphalt overlay; replacing both exterior steel wide flange girders and their intermediate diaphragms, and all steel end diaphragms at both abutments; preparing and painting all structural steel, (existing and new); placing riprap in front of both abutments and their wingwalls; providing CDOT Type 10M bridge rails and Type 3 W-beam guardrails; some site grading; and reconstructing the asphalt roadway approaches.  Also included are construction traffic control; stormwater management and erosion control; public information system; and obtaining all necessary permits.  Both directions of traffic will be maintained through the site for the duration of the project using phased bridge and roadway construction and lane shifts.
 
This project needs to be constructed this year.
