25-06 - TRANSPORTATION SERVICES

Arapahoe County (the County) is seeking transportation services for children within the CAPS Division. Child & Adult Protective Services (CAPS) is responsible for addressing concerns of abuse and/or neglect within Arapahoe County. Caseworkers assess risk and safety factors that may be impacting children within their home. When a safety issue is identified, the caseworker attempts to mitigate the concern with the family. If the safety issue cannot be mitigated, the child may be removed from the home and placed in foster care. Children in foster care, often have a history of complex childhood trauma due to abuse and/or neglect. This trauma exposure can disrupt a child’s ability to regulate their emotions and maintain within community settings. Service providers working with these children should understand trauma triggers, behaviors and interventions.
