RFP-6143-14 - Boulder Canyon Trail - Crusher Fine Repairs

Summary of Specifications:
The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is seeking proposals from qualified vendors to repair and resurface sections of the Boulder Canyon Trail just west of Boulder, Colorado. The project area is located between the intersection of Fourmile Canyon Drive and State Highway 119 and extending east approximately one mile. The scope of work primarily entails the resurfacing of crusher fine trail, but also includes the repair of an eroded section of trail embankment using a vegetated dry stack boulder wall. Resurfacing of the 10-foot wide multi-use trail will take place over approximately 0.8 miles and involves the placement of geotextile underlay and crusher fines directly on existing grade. A water supply line for Boulder lies just beneath the trail, which precludes any excavation of existing grade during the resurfacing process. Topsoil for windrowing the trail shoulders will be imported and then seeded and mulched for revegatation. Specifications and a sample contract with a FEMA specific addendum are attached. The successful proposer shall execute the attached addendum as part of any contract with the county, and comply with all FEMA requirements set forth in that addendum.
