RFP-5654-12 - Native Seed Increase

Summary of Specifications:
The Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) is accepting proposals from qualified vendors for increasing seed of seven native species (3 grasses and 4 forbs) of local ecotypes. The awarded contractor will be expected to enter into a one year contract with the option to renew for an additional two years. 

Introduction 

Since 2003, the Boulder County Parks and Open Space Department (BCPOS) has been actively engaged in collecting native seed to use in site specific restoration activities. The focus has been on species that are unavailable in the commercial seed trade or that are unique, locally adapted ecotypes. Boulder County is now seeking qualified seed growers to increase its collected or foundation seed in seed increaser fields, to provide additional seed for future site specific restoration projects.
