2017-125 - Pre-Rinse Spray Valve Replacement Program

Background: The City of Aspen is interested in offering a free water efficiency program for Aspen restaurants. This program will provide complementary installations of high-efficiency pre-rinse spray valves (PRSV) to replace inefficient fixtures used in the dishwashing process in commercial kitchens.
 
Work Specifications: The City of Aspen is seeking a licensed plumber to:

1. Test current PRSV GPM using a flow bag. If the GPM is higher than that of the high-efficiency PRSVs, proceed with following steps.
2. Remove existing PRSVs from the kitchens of pre-determined Aspen restaurants.
3. Replace old PRSVs with high efficiency models. Note: The City of Aspen will provide PRSVs in several models, including Niagara and T&S Brass models.
4. Transport self, PRSVs, and equipment to different restaurants in downtown Aspen.
5. Provide all own equipment to perform removal and installation of PRSVs. This should include two channel locks, rubber grippers, and a flow bag to test current PRSV GPM.

• Prior to the date of installation, City of Aspen staff will conduct outreach to restaurants to schedule appointment times for the PRSV swap to be conducted. On the first day of work, the plumber will meet with City of Aspen staff to review the schedule.
• The City shall provide the fixture to install.
• Supplier must have an Aspen Business License or obtain one if selected.
• Must have all necessary plumber/contractor license(s).
