The City of Durango invites interested, qualified persons or firms, capable of providing the required service to submit firm bids for Concrete Foundation Work, Installation Assistance, and Traffic Control for the “Common Threads” Art Project.

The City of Durango and the City’s Creative Economy Commission (CEC) received a National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Artworks Grant to install a public art project in the northern median at the intersection of Highway 550/160. The purpose of the “Common Threads” art project was to encourage community engagement through public art. “Common Threads” has gone through an extensive public outreach process and the designs incorporate artwork from many different community members, particularly children. There will be a non-Mandatory on-site pre-bid conference at 11:00 A.M. MST (Local Time) on August 9, 2021, at the Intersection of HWY 550 & HWY 160 West, in the dirt lot on the east side of HWY 550 by the Flagpole, Durango, CO 81301, to familiarize bidders with the project. Safety Vests are recommended. In response to the COVID pandemic, all attendees at the mandatory pre-bid shall be required to adhere to State and Local guidelines, face mask are suggested and practicing social distancing.
