The City of Durango Colorado, by and through the Purchasing Manager, is accepting proposals from qualified firms for Legislative Services, in accordance with the terms, conditions, and specifications contained in these documents.
The City is engaging in an RFP process for Legislative Services. The awarded consultant will help the City navigate the political system, as well as with Congressional offices. The consultant will identify and advise the City on state programs and available funding the City can apply for including, but not limited to, water/wastewater public infrastructure, roadway public infrastructure, economic development, cultural enrichment, and public safety, and assist the City with applying for the available funding.
The consultant will monitor state legislation and issues that may impact the City, and help the City advocate its support or objection regarding state government matters.
All power and authority to set policies rests with an elected governing body, which includes the Mayor and members of the City Council. The Governing Body in turn hires a non-partisan Manager who has a very broad authority to run the organization.
