IFB-14-026 - Bulk Methanol

Summary of Specifications:
The Littleton/Englewood Wastewater Treatment Plant (L/E WWTP) is requesting quotes to provide bulk methanol for the treatment facility for the calendar year 2015. The successful firm will provide bulk methanol for the denitrification complex, utilizing the product as a bacterial food stock in the removal of nitrates from wastewater. Methanol use is determined by seasonal discharge permit requirements. Based on the last twelve months of operation, the consumption of methanol in the treatment process is approximately 120,000 gallons per year. Recent experience has shown the treatment facility may not process methanol orders from approximately May 1 through August 31 as the facility can meet its discharge requirements with existing processes. However, new discharge permit limitations may require year-round supply (not reflected in this consumption estimate).
