Summary of Specifications:
To meet a portion of an increased water demand in the year 2050, the City is proposing to enlarge its existing Milton Seaman Reservoir from 5,000 AF to 53,000 AF. This 48,000 AF expansion would fully utilize projected water rights and increase the City’s firm yield by 6,600 AF. The proposed reservoir enlargement would be achieved by constructing a new concrete arch dam downstream of the existing Milton Seaman Dam and decommissioning the existing dam. The enlarged Milton Seaman Reservoir would operate in a similar manner to the existing reservoir and would be primarily filled from the North Fork on which the new Milton Seaman Dam would be located. A new pump station and pipeline located near the existing Fort Collins pipeline intake diversion structure on the Poudre River would create the ability to divert and pump additional flows from the Main Stem of the river to the reservoir.
