Summary of Specifications:
A. Work to be performed includes the following: 1. Conversion of Sludge Storage Tank to Primary Digester No. 3. To maintain a minimum of two digesters in service at all times during construction, the Sludge Storage Tank will be converted to Primary Digester No. 3 as part of this project. The digester cover has been pre-purchased by the City from WesTech prior to this bid and the agreed upon price provided on the bid schedule. The digester cover contract will be transferred to the Contractor as part of this project and the Contractor will assume all responsibilities. Additionally, this project will install Ovivo linear motion mixing systems on the new cover of Primary Digester No. 3. The linear motion mixers have been pre-purchased from Ovivo by the City prior to this bid and the agreed upon price provided on the bid schedule. The linear motion mixer contract will be transferred to the Contractor as part of this project and the Contractor will assume all responsibilities. The purchase and installation of the digester mixer for Primary Digester No. 3 is a bid alternate and will be evaluated for inclusion after bids are received. Additionally, new digester gas piping will be constructed, a new heat exchanger installed (also a bid alternate), and transfer/recirculation pumps replaced (supplied by Owner). Contractor will be responsible for the demolition of the existing cover, purchase and installation of a new floating cover and mixer (pre-purchased), cleaning of the digesters (City will empty the digester as far as possible- Contractor shall assume 200,000 gallons of material will need to be removed along with 100,000 gallons of cleaning water. A 1L sample of the material will need to be collected by the Contractor for every truck that leaves the site and provided to the City for testing.), digester gas piping, process piping, access stairway, transfer pump replacement (Owner-provided), recirculation pump replacement (Owner-provided), new heat exchanger (bid alternate), connection of sludge piping to heat exchangers, all labor, demolition, cleaning of the digesters, equipment, piping/plumbing, materials, electrical, instrumentation, appurtenances, commissioning, and services for a fully functioning Primary Digester No. 3.
