Summary of Specifications:
TRAFFIC SIGNAL BATTERY BACK UP SYSTEM PROJECT FOR THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT TRAFFIC ENGINEERING DIVISION IN ACCORDANCE WITH RFP REQUIREMENTS. PROJECT IS FOR THE PROVISION OF EQUIPMENT AND CABINETS NECESSARY TO SUPPLY BATTERY BACK UP ELECTRICAL POWER TO 85 SIGNALIZED LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY (WITH TWO ADDITIONAL, FULLY EQUIPPED CABINETS AS SPARES.) 41 (AND THE TWO SPARES) OF THE LOCATIONS ARE TO BE ACQUIRED & INSTALLED IN 2006 AND 44 WILL BE ACQUIRED & INSTALLED IN 2007. BATTERY BACK UP SYSTEM WILL CONSIST OF AN OUTDOOR ENCLOSURE, BATTERY CONTROL UNIT & CHARGER, BATTERIES, A SPREAD SPECTRUM RADIO SUB SYSTEM FOR TRANSMITTING BATTERY BACK UP STATUS TO A MASTER LOCATION, AND A SOFTWARE APPLICATION FOR RECORDING DATA FROM THE INSTALLATIONS. OTHERS WILL DO INSTALLATION OF CABINETS.
