SCOPE: Hover Street and 9th Avenue are arterial roadways within the City. This project will construct an attached sidewalk in the identified gaps that will comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act and City Design Standards. The portion of Hover Street that is being improved under this contract is within the existing City right-of-way (from Allen Drive southward to 3rd Avenue) with an approximate distance of 500 feet. The portion of 9th Avenue that is being improved under this contract is within the existing County right-of-way (from Hayden Court eastward, tying into the Denio West Subdivision) with an approximate distance of 1,700 feet. An additional portion of Allen Drive that is being improved under this contract is within City easements (tying into existing walk, eastward to Hover Street) with an approximate distance of 730 feet. The work to be performed under this contract includes the removal and installation of asphalt pavement; removal of curb, gutter and sidewalk; tree removal/pruning; installation of concrete curb, gutter and sidewalk; ditch lateral improvements; permanent signing and striping; retaining wall construction; erosion control; landscaping; fencing; earthwork; traffic control; and other related work. The Contractor shall supply all labor, materials, and equipment necessary to complete the work in conformity to the Plans and Specifications.
BID CONDITIONS: The City of Longmont is seeking qualified Contractors with applicable experience comparable to this project. The Contractor must have satisfactorily completed at least three (3) projects of similar scope in an established residential or commercial neighborhood within the last 5 years with each project valued at a minimum of $500,000. The projects must have included the construction of ADA compliant sidewalks, curb and gutter installation, asphalt pavement installation, as well as other related work identified in the SCOPE. Utilize ATTACHMENT B & D of the Bid Submittal to document and submit these projects with your bid.
The Contractor must self-perform a minimum of 40% of all project work, and can subcontract a maximum of 60% of the project work.
It is mandatory that all Bidders fully complete the Comparable Construction Project Experience form and provide all materials requested herein. Any Bidder that fails to comply with this requirement may be considered nonresponsive.
